Message from President of The Federation of International Journalist, America (FIJA) :
This is a global organization of journalists and media professionals. FIJA is dedicated to the promotion of press freedom, the protection of journalists and media professionals, and the promotion of ethical journalism. FIJA is committed to the defense of the rights of journalists and media professionals, and the promotion of freedom of expression and the free flow of information.
Purpose and Vision :
The International Federation of Journalists (FIJA), America has been established as an independent, inclusive, and umbrella organization aimed at protecting and promoting the rights of professional journalists. The vision behind the federation is to advance while embracing the core values and ethics of journalism.
Journalism and Its Ethics :
Journalism must be independent and impartial. Speaking, writing, and presenting in favor of truth and facts—without advocating for any political party or group—is the primary duty of a journalist. Keeping readers, viewers, and listeners informed with accurate information is the core responsibility of journalism. FIJA will actively work to promote responsible, unbiased, and accountable journalism by keeping truth at the center.
Rights and Responsibilities :
FIJA is always ready to protect journalists’ rights and raise their voices institutionally. Although journalists have the freedom to embrace any political ideology as part of democratic principles, while being active within the federation, they must remain impartial and not be influenced by any political affiliation. The federation pledges to move forward with a commitment to the principles and ethics of journalism, from the central office to branch levels.
Impartiality and Collaboration :
FIJA does not oppose any journalism-related organization, nor will it do so in the future. Instead, the federation’s policy is to collaborate and move forward together with other related organizations. Embracing the truth, FIJA is committed to advancing independently while adhering to the true spirit and principles of journalism.
Organizational Structure and Expansion :
FIJA is established as a non-profit social organization. Its headquarters are located in the United States, with plans to expand branches globally. The primary goal of this umbrella organization is to bring together journalists scattered across various countries, both domestically and internationally.
Open to Journalists from Any Country :
FIJA welcomes not only Nepali journalists but also journalists from any country to become members. As per the federation’s policy, only one branch will be established in a single country. Journalists working in any media sector, including radio, television, newspapers, online platforms, and other communication mediums, can become members. Interested journalists are encouraged to contact the central office via email for branch formation and participation.
Our Commitment :
We will not align with or oppose any political group; instead, we will stand firmly on the side of truth. Our commitment is to embrace the true essence of journalism and move forward independently. Our primary goal is to build an international network of journalists and protect their rights.

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय पत्रकार महासंघ, अमेरिका (FIJA) पत्रकारहरू र सञ्चारकर्मीहरूको एक विश्वव्यापी संगठन हो। FIJA प्रेस स्वतन्त्रताको प्रवर्द्धन, पत्रकारहरू र सञ्चारकर्मीहरूको संरक्षण, र नैतिक पत्रकारिताको प्रवर्द्धनका लागि समर्पित छ। FIJA पत्रकारहरूको अधिकारको रक्षा, अभिव्यक्तिको स्वतन्त्रता र सूचनाको स्वतन्त्र प्रवाहको प्रवर्द्धनमा प्रतिबद्ध छ।
अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय पत्रकार महासङ्घ (FIJA), अमेरिका, स्वतन्त्र, साझा र छाता सङ्गठनका रूपमा पेशागत पत्रकारहरूको हकहितको संरक्षण र प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने उद्देश्यले स्थापना गरिएको हो। यस सङ्घको परिकल्पना पत्रकारिताको धर्म र मर्मलाई आत्मसात् गर्दै अघि बढ्ने उद्देश्य अनुरूप गरिएको छ।
पत्रकारिता र यसको धर्म :
पत्रकारिता स्वतन्त्र र निष्पक्ष हुनुपर्छ। कुनै पनि पार्टी वा पक्षको वकालत नगरी सत्य र तथ्यको पक्षमा बोल्नु, लेख्नु र प्रस्तुत गर्नु नै पत्रकारको धर्म हो। पाठक, दर्शक र श्रोतालाई सत्य तथ्य जानकारी दिनु नै पत्रकारको कर्तव्य हो। सत्यलाई केन्द्रमा राख्दै निष्पक्ष र उत्तरदायी पत्रकारिताको प्रवर्द्धन गर्न अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय पत्रकार महासङ्घ क्रियाशील रहनेछ।
हकहित र कर्तव्यबोध :
पत्रकारहरूको हकहितको संरक्षण र संस्थागत रुपमा आवाज उठाउन महासङ्घ सदैव तत्पर रहनेछ। लोकतन्त्रको मौलिक पक्षलाई आत्मसात् गर्दै पत्रकारहरूले कुनै राजनीतिक विचारधारालाई अंगाल्न सक्ने स्वतन्त्रता हुँदाहुँदै पनि, महासङ्घमा क्रियाशील रहँदा कुनै पनि राजनीतिक पक्षको प्रभावमा नपरी निष्पक्ष रूपमा प्रस्तुत हुनुपर्छ। केन्द्रदेखि शाखासम्मको संरचनामा पत्रकारिताको धर्म र मर्मलाई आत्मसात् गर्दै अघि बढ्ने प्रतिज्ञा महासङ्घले गर्दछ।
निष्पक्षता र सहकार्य :
महासङ्घ कुनै पनि पत्रकारिता सम्बन्धी संघसंस्थाको विरोधी होइन र भविष्यमा पनि हुनेछैन। बरु, अन्य पत्रकारिता संग सम्बन्धित संघसंस्थासँग सहकार्य गर्दै अगाडि बढ्ने नीति महासङ्घले अंगालेको छ। सत्यलाई अँगाल्दै, पत्रकारिताको वास्तविक धर्म र मर्मलाई आत्मसात् गर्दै निष्पक्ष रूपमा अघि बढ्न महासङ्घ प्रतिबद्ध छ।
संस्थागत संरचना र विस्तार :
यो संस्थालाई नाफारहित सामाजिक संस्था रूपमा स्थापना गरिएको हो। प्रधान कार्यालय अमेरिकामा रहेको यस सङ्घले विश्वभरका विभिन्न देशमा शाखा विस्तार गर्ने योजना राखेको छ। यो छाता सङ्गठनले स्वदेश तथा विदेशमा छरिएर रहेका पत्रकारहरूलाई एउटै मञ्चमा ल्याउने उद्देश्य राखेको छ।
जुनसुकै देशका पत्रकारहरू सदस्य बन्न सक्ने :
FIJA मा नेपाली मात्र नभई जुनसुकै देशका पत्रकारहरू सदस्य बन्न सक्नेछन्। यस महासङ्घको नीति अनुसार, एउटा देशमा एक शाखा खोलिनेछ। रेडियो, टेलिभिजन, पत्रपत्रिका, अनलाइन लगायत सञ्चारमाध्यममा कार्यरत सबै पत्रकारहरू सदस्य बन्न सक्नेछन्। इच्छुक पत्रकारहरूले शाखा स्थापना तथा सहभागिताका लागि प्रधान कार्यालयको इमेलमा सम्पर्क गर्न सक्नेछन्।
हाम्रो प्रतिबद्धता :
हामी कुनै पनि पक्ष वा विपक्षमा लागेर होइन, सत्यको पक्षमा उभिएर पत्रकारिताको वास्तविक धर्मलाई आत्मसात् गर्दै अघि बढ्ने छौँ। हाम्रो लक्ष्य पत्रकारहरूको अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नेटवर्क निर्माण गर्नु र उनीहरूको हकहितको संरक्षण गर्नु हो।

Message from General Secretary Tanka Dahal of The Federation of International Journalist, America (FIJA) :
Journalism is often regarded as the fourth pillar of a nation, and this is not merely a saying. Even if the other three pillars falter or become unstable, the fourth pillar must have the ability to restore balance. However, for this to happen, journalism itself must remain impartial, fearless, timely, and strong.
In the current global scenario, there is widespread concern that journalism is no longer able to maintain its impartiality. There are numerous instances where journalists are being used for financial and political interests rather than serving the people, the country, and humanity.
To address the concerns raised by the public—”We can no longer see independent journalism”—FIJA was founded with the sole purpose of promoting independent journalism without aligning with any political party or ideology. It was established as an umbrella organization for journalists spread across the world, working towards strengthening independent journalism.
Being entrusted with the esteemed position of Founding General Secretary of such a noble institution fills me with both pride and a profound sense of responsibility. I sincerely hope that, together, we will succeed in shaping a new dimension for journalism.
पत्रकारिता कुनै पनि देशको चौथो अङ्ग हुन्छ भनेर त्यतिकै भनिएको होइन। बाकि रहेका तीनवटा अंगहरु ढल्मलिए र बिचलित भए भने पनि चौथो अङ्गले त्यसलाई ठिक ठाउमा ल्याउन सक्नु पर्छ। तर यसको लागि त्यो चौथो अङ्ग आफैमा निस्पक्ष, निर्भिक, समय सान्दर्भिक र सबल हुनुपर्छ। अहिलेको विश्व परिस्थितिमा पत्रकारिता निस्पक्ष रहन नसकेको जनगुनासो सर्वत्र छ। पत्रकारहरु जनता, देश र मानवताका लागि भन्दा पनि पैसा र राजनीतिका लागि प्रयोग भएका प्रसस्त उदाहरणहरु छन्।
यसरि आएका जनताको आवाज र सुझाव “स्वतन्त्र पत्रकारिता देख्ने पाइएन” लाई सम्बोधन गर्नका निम्ति कुनै पनि दल र पक्ष तिर नलागी स्वतन्त्र पत्रकारिता गर्ने र त्यसैलाई प्रवर्धन गर्ने उदेश्य लिएर संसार भरि छरिएर रहेका पत्रकारहरुको छाता संगठन बनाउने र स्वतन्त्र पत्रकारिता लाइ प्रवर्धन गर्ने उदेश्यले FIJA गठन भएको हो।
यस्तो पुनित कार्य गर्ने उदेश्यले स्थापना भएको संस्थाको संस्थापक महासचिव जस्तो गरिमामय पदमा रहेर काम गर्न पाउदा एकातिर गर्व त अर्को तिर ठुलो उत्तरदायित्व थपिएको महसुस भएको छ। आशा छ, पत्रकारिताको अर्को आयाम कोर्न सफल हुने छौ सबै मिलेर।
